Our Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt Sneak Peek

Hello Reader

We're just a month away from starting up our Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt Sew Along. All the fabric is en route to us (it's just making an extra stop along the way) and we're still trying to determine if we'll have any additional kits to offer. We hope so, but it won't be much. At the very least we should have a couple chambray bundles available. If you set an email alert, you'll be first to know.

In the meantime, I finished up my test unit. I'm so happy with how it turned out. If you have the pattern, this is unit 6. I was limited in which section of the quilt I could do for this initial section because I was working strictly off the fat quarter bundle and didn't have any yardage of the background colour - Putty. I've got so many notes and tips to share with this project. But, I definitely am loving working with this chambray. The colours are so soft and pretty together.

If you've registered for the Flower Branch Sew Along, make sure you've signed in to the online community space. We'll be posting some important details, supply list notes and a fun new tool we've developed this weekend that you may want to add to your kit. Anyone is still welcome to join the Sew Along, several people are creating their own Kona solids version or do a deep dive into your stash - I'd really love to see someone do a print version of this quilt.

That photo up top is the test unit hanging in the shop. I wanted you to see the scale of it in real life. It's one small piece of a very pretty puzzle that we'll be putting together!

So excited!
Karyn

CONGRATULATIONS SEWING MACHINE ESSENTIALS!

Tuesday night we wrapped up our six week Sewing Machine Essentials workshop. For our final session we sewed the project bag from Handmade Getaway. The goal of this series was to gain confidence and understanding with the sewing machine - for both total beginners and those who have been sewing for some time. Through live weekly Zoom sessions and recorded video tutorials, we covered a lot of ground and built a whole new resource that can be accessed at any time. If you're in the Sewing Machine Essentials Club, you can access everything through the RESOURCES tab. We'll continue to add more video tutorials based on the gaps we talked about in class.

When you talked at the beginning of Sewing Machine Essentials and said how 90% of the time, if something goes wrong, it's either threading or the bobbin - I feel like I'm doing that, and it's working, so it's really a good feeling. Thank you for this whole series. It's been amazing. DAISY-
