Here's why I'm putting more energy into YouTube specifically: three-minute Instagram reels are fun to make, but so much gets cut for time - the details about process, construction choices, the "why" behind decisions. Long-form video is where I can actually show you that stuff without chopping it to bits. More and more, YouTube is where I watch things instead of traditional shows, and I suspect a lot of you are the same.

JUST ADDED! We've got three new workshops added to our virtual calendar - the Merchant & Mills Factory Dress/Top and the 101 Trouser. We're adding these fun projects to our Handmade Wardrobe collection. We've also had many requests for the Double Time Quilt and we'll be learning to sew curves in patchwork in September together.
NEW! SERGER ESSENTIALS If your serger has been intimidating you into avoiding it, this is for you. Over 6 weeks, you'll go from "what do all these dials even do" to threading, tensioning, and stitching with real confidence -no more guessing, no more avoiding the machine.
Each week: a short video lesson to watch on your own time, plus a live Zoom session for questions, demos, and hands-on practice. You keep lifetime access to everything.

Virtual Workshops There are some epic garments happening in our summer workshops. I love when the class feed starts to fill with project updates (see below). Folks have been knocking it out of the park. We always spend a good amount of time going over project planning, sizing and pattern possibilities which really sets a good foundation. The results really show! We just started the Sanda Jacket class this week and those are going to be equally wonderful just based on everyone's varied fabric choices & plans. Stay tuned - or jump in with us! We've been leaving the doors open to our current workshops, for anyone who wants to catch up with the replays and notes. There's no need for FOMO here.
Scout Shirt & Dress - Thursdays, June 18 - July 23 (In Session)

Stay tuned to see what this oversized chambray shirt transforms into!
JULY REPURPOSING CHALLENGE We met earlier this week for our repurposing challenge and the community input into each person's project was half the fun!
We'll be meeting two more times. The sessions are open-ended by design - what we work on together will depend on what you bring and where you get stuck.
Session 1 · Monday July 6 · 7–8pm ET - REPLAY
Session 2 · Monday July 20 · 7–8pm ET Progress check. Bring what you've started - questions, problems, and wins welcome.
Session 3 · Monday August 17 · 7–8pm ET Final session. Share what you've made, what you discovered and what you'd like to try next
The gap between sessions is intentional - allowing time to actually do the work.
the workroom studio members join free. Not a member? You can sign up for this challenge separately for $25.
Have you tried doing seam binding on your garments? We've been incorporating it into some of our workshop projects - like the Esme Cardigan and the Sanda Jacket. I've taken a different approach, which may or may not get me in trouble! (I think it's brilliant, personally)
Special shout out to my Scout Dress/Shirt students who are have been boldly applying all the tricks & tips for pattern matching, bias cut details and thoughtful placement with this project. I'm so proud to see these special Scouts come together! Here are just a few...
