We had so many deliveries this week, the boxes and products are still piled up at the seed cabinet where they were quickly unpacked and checked before getting back to catching up on shop orders.
We hosted our final Handmade Getaway group for 2026 last weekend and it was the perfect way to wrap up the season. If you're curious to see a snapshot of these special weekends, check out our Handmade Getaway Album here- I am barely able to capture the volume of amazing things that are created and shared. I know we're doing something right because 90% of the people who sign up are coming back for their second, fourth or tenth visit to Sprucedale. We can't wait to plan the 2027 season with Rob & Julia of Santosha Farms/Missing Link Adventure Tours. We could not do this without their amazing lodge and incredible farm to table meals. They truly makes everyone feel so nourished and cared for.

MERCHANT & MILLS : Bias Binding Have you tried bias binding as a seam finishing technique? I really like the Hong Kong seam finish and I'm considering it for my current Merchant & Mills Sunday Robe made with a heavy linen from our surplus collection.
NEW! Books by Arounna We are always so inspired byBookhou aka Arounna's prolific creative projects and we currently have five of her six book in stock. Her newest book 'Botanical Embroidery' is a lovely guide to creating plant & floral inspired designs. I was especially taken by the Winter Celebrations book which is jam packed with so many project ideas I had not seen before. If you're planning on making any holiday gifts or decorations this year, this book will give you so many ideas!
VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS and EVENTS The Pietra Pants/Shorts are a great pattern for beginners who are looking to try making pants for the first time. The back half of the waistband is wide elastic, so there is no closure. Not sure about fit? A great option is to make the shorts for your first version.
