300+ metres of fabric about to land in Sprucedale

Hello Reader

We had so much fun at the Muskoka Quilts from the Heart Show last week in Bracebridge. Fern and I drove down Friday and Saturday for two very fun and inspiring days meeting lots of local quilters and being surrounded by really incredible quilts. I posted a fun video of our booth set up that you can see here.

All our booked Summer events are happening over this three week period. Tomorrow a group of Modern Quilters from Barrie are heading to Sprucedale for a shop visit and mini Cyanotype workshop. The following weekend we've got a custom Handmade Getaway booked by a group of our online Studio Members.

Plus, there are currently a couple deliveries of exciting fabric heading our way - All the Bella Stripe and Bella Check fabrics, plus a 13 box delivery from Merchant & Mills. We have updated the online shop with some extra yardage that is available and we're working on setting up the additional Remnant pieces of Cotton Jacquard that are up for grabs.

It's going to be a hectic and super fun couple of weeks!

YAY!
Karyn

p.s. Please note there will just be one pick up day next week in Parkdale - Wednesday June 17, 11-5pm. There will be no Thursday or Saturday pick up, Alexis will be in Sprucedale for the weekend. Check our pick up schedule here.

PARKDALE | SPRUCEDALE | NEW ARRIVALS | WORKSHOPS

Community Preorder : Merchant & Mills
There were some last minute additions to the Merchant & Mills preorder on the final day - Red Baby Bow Scissors and the Goldie Jacquard and Sea Holly Linen. A few lucky folks snapped up these pieces before we closed the Community Preorder on Sunday. Now that the delivery has shipped out, we've update all the Merchant & Mills preorder items with some additional availability. Don't miss out if you had second thoughts about one of the Jacquards, the Bobbette Cross Stitch Cottons or the pretty Linens, there's a small amount left for almost all of those as of this morning. If you're adding to a current order - just use the code IFORGOT to pair it with your existing items an no additional shipping fee.

Capstone Patterns
We just got our delivery of patterns and labels from Capstone this week. Their woven labels have been especially popular for their sweet sentiments like - Sewing Haunts Me and I Made it and Swore A lot . I recently made their Juniper Tank and it's such a beautiful design with thoughtful finishing details and clear pattern instructions.

Virtual Workshops
The rest of the summer I'll be focusing on more virtual workshop videos and tutorials. I've already started filming the Shepherd Skirt videos to add to the existing online classroom, folks can sign up for this class and jump into this project anytime and work through it on their own schedule. It will be impossible to do this for every workshop but I'm starting to chip away at it.

Handmade Wardrobe Year 2026-2027 is our all access pass to every garment workshop for twelve months. It has been a really great way for a small group of sewists to commit to their sewing practice in an immersive way with the flexibility to join classes live or later on their own schedule. Read our blog post on the program here.

the workroom studio members save $25 on every class.

PREORDER : Sashiko The Untold Story
We're excited to have a new book heading our way that dives into the essence of Sashiko. This book offers a rich history and philosophy of Sashiko, exploring its stitches, traditions and proper application. Celebrating this historical technique, this book delves into its origins and addresses the cultural appreciation of this craft. There are just a few copies in this first delivery!

Summer Community Sew Along has started
We had our launch Zoom meeting for the Flower Branch Embroidery Quilt Sew Along on Monday! It was a full house and we talked about the workroom NOTES that we created for this project to help streamline the cutting, sewing and assembly to make it go quicker. There is even a custom fabric swatch chart that everyone can use to map out their fabrics for the project.

We'll be meeting up on Sunday evening for a sewing session to spend a bit of time working together and helping our new quilters get started. We were also able to wrangle up some extra Chambray yardage for anyone who missed out on picking some up for the back of their quilts. Now that you've seen how lovely the Chambray is, you may want to have the entire back in either the Sage or Moss. Limited quantities are available!
