PREORDER! BELLA STRIPE & BELLA STRIPE I was pleasantly surprised by the Bella fabric. It's a lovely linen/rayon blend that has a squishy texture that was really nice to work with. If you want to see it in action - take a peek at the IG Reel of my newest Merchant & Mills Shepherd Skirt in Bella Stripe Cocoa. The new Bella Check is exceptionally lovely

JOIN US FOR A GARMENT WORKSHOP!
I'm really proud of the virtual workshop program we've been able to create this past year. Wherever you are in the world, we can now sew together. It's not uncommon for our workshops to represent West Coast, East Coast and sewists from the US too. It's really special to bring folks from all over to learn together. We even have makers from Australia, the UK and France following along with our replays and notes.
Small groups. Every session runs with six to twelve people. There's plenty of time for your questions to get answered in real time and to share progress, wins and challenges with the group.
Sewing in real time. These aren't polished presentations where everything goes right or is pre-sewn in advance. I'm working through the same garment alongside you, which means when something goes sideways, we figure it out together on the spot. Sewing is not perfect, it's a series of decisions and problem solving. These are critical skills we are always working on exploring and it's one of our students' favourite features of class.
One price, lifetime access. Your registration includes all the live sessions, session replay guides you can actually sew from, lifetime access to the recordings, and a standing invitation to sew the same project again with a future cohort, at no extra charge.
The community doesn't close when the workshop does. Students keep access to the virtual classroom space after the workshop ends. That means you can always access the resources and be inspired by your fellow makers.
Teaching since 2007.the workroom has been running in-person and virtual sewing education for nearly twenty years now. We are always evolving with the goal of keeping our community connected and inspired.
You leave with something to refer back to. After every Zoom session, there is also a structured replay guide and notes that pair with the video replay. Even if you miss out on attending live - all the instructions, the decisions, and the key learning moments are documented for you all in one place.
One price. Every garment workshop we run from June 2026 to June 2027.
At our current pace that's 20 or more patterns over twelve months - skirts, coats, trousers, dresses, shirts - worked through live with a small group and available to revisit any time. You don't need to show up to every session. Each workshop stays accessible so you can come back to it when you're ready to make that garment.
At $2,695 CAD that works out to roughly $130 per workshop. Individual workshops are $150 - 200+ each. Workshop prices are going up soon, this pass locks in your rate for the full year.
I joined the Handmade Wardrobe Year this year and I think it's the best thing I've ever done. I'd taken classes before in person and a couple virtually, but I find that I'm learning so much more. - Rebecca
MEMBER PERK :the workroom studio memberssave 10%, which is $269 off this pass. Annual membership is $280. If you've been thinking about joining, the saving on this pass alone almost covers the full cost of a year's membership and you'd get all the other member perks on top.
PREORDER : Capstone Patterns & Labels I wanted to show you my new Juniper Tank from Capstone Pattern Co. - that back detail is so striking. This is such a fun garment to sew up.
